Beta testing is currently underway for the site. Pets are being uploaded, script errors are being fixed, and final preparations for the opening are being made. There were a few things we missed, so launch may take a little longer than we'd planned, but we're working hard to keep the process moving along.

We have a couple of surprises that were not mentioned on the boards, in the blog, in the news or in any public MI discussion that you are all going to love! I'll give you a hint: It has to do with user profiles.

On a note about staff: We have someone working on a variety of flash games for us as well as a spectacular newspaper. Today our accomplishments were mainly in regards to uploading pet images and fixing bugs in the shops. We plan to have every pet uploaded by the end of this week.

Mystic Island Estimates Release Dates

Mystic Island is 2 weeks from entering beta mode. You heard that right - 2 weeks! We will be notifying all beta testers via personal message two days in advance of the beta launch. Our programmer has been working diligently for 2 months now and his efforts are appreciated. Mystic Island has been in the planning stages for 3 years now and everyone (staff and player alike) are anxious to see the idea finally come to fruition. Thank you to everyone for your continued support and patience. Look for the official public release to be somewhere around October 1st. (this is subject to change depending on feedback we get from the beta testers). We look forward to seeing you all there. Until then you may check out our message boards. Mystic Island Seeking Advertising Team

Because Mystic Island is close to public release we want to start putting together our advertising team. Mystic Island is under constant modification. Documents outlining the structure of the admin panel, positions, and tables have been updated (we added new stats, new positions, and new details on how things should work administratively). Things are going a little slower than planned because allthough it's not always enforced, COPPA is actually a law here in the United States, not a suggestion, so we need to do what we can to ensure that we comply with those standards. We want the underaged players to have a safe enviroment even if they 'fake' their age. This will require a lot of safeties, technical details, and lots of competent, trustworthy moderator staff.

New games are being developed for your enjoyment and improvements to the already existing "tetris" game have been made. We're planning games that will entertain all ages and levels of intelligence and personality persuasions. Business documents are being drawn up for Mystic Island (they include a privacy policy that is COPPA compliant, Terms of Use, and documents detailing profit estimations and a number of other documents that most of you reading this blog will not be interested in). The people of Mystic-Island have aquired billapaws. The two sites will be merged into one so you will get the best of both worlds. Top quality staff and artists from both sites will unite to make an awesoem playing expirience.
The change may take some time but you'll be able to adopt, train, and play with all of your favorite billa pets and Mystic Island pets. There will be gold/preemium accounts, new shops, new characters, new plots, and new pets.
You can keep on top of everything by reading this blog or hanging out at our message boards. We hope ot see you there...

Update - We have successfully regained the rights to Mystic-Island.com and set up a webhost for the site. It will stillb e some time before anyone is allowed to play there, however, the site is now officially in-development.

As I said before if you'd like to get a Mystic-Island vibe go ahead and visit billapaws.com. A lot of MI's staff is currently a parto f that community including their art staff (us). We'll be starting some sort of private board to discuss the site with staff and key members as soon as a good arrangement is found for that.

Mystic Island Update
As noted before, and no doubt you have guessed, MI has been riding over a LOT of rough spots. We've had trouble withe verything from domains and hosting to idea theft. However there is a silver lining in allof this. We have found two php programers who are currently assisting in the development of the game. We've decided to evolve beyond a personal pet site (though of COURSE we will still have pets to adopt, train and play with).
Currently three of our staff are donating their talents to a virtual pet site called "billapaws" (http://www.billapaws.com/). Some of our classic items (like the glass pegasus and the space station) will be released on that site. The art is done by the same artists who brought you Mystic Island. And two of MI staff are on the administration of the new site.
We'll post further updates in this blog as we have them.... including how appointments with investors go, previews of the full color pitch book, and when we'll be open for beta testing.

This will be the new place to get updates on Mystic Island. As we know things, you will know things.

For now a basic "state of the site" speech.

All account information was lost when the dumb ISP closed it down and our backup didn't work correctly. So, we have no account information. This is ok considering we wanted to start our new site from scratch. Also, we lost all the OPG script.. so that's getting started from scratch. While that could have been a bad thing, we also have someone willing to CODE FOR US!

Yes this is what we have been waiting for. Our very own coder. Maybe I'll actually learn somethinh from this one. Who knows? Either way, things are finally looking up at least a little bit.
